Stucture of the Earth

Structure of the Earth Facts
We are learning about the structure of the Earth.
I learnt that the Earth is made up of 4 layers. They are the Crust, Mantle, Outer core and
Inner core

Facts about each layer:
Crust - the thinnest layer on the Earth and also it is the closest layer to us.
Mantle - the mantle is a very squidgy layer/ squishy layer holding the Earth. It is the
thickest layer.
Outer Core - the outer core is like the crust because it is shielding the inner core.
It is so hot - 4000-6000' C that it is runny liquid even though it is made of rocks.
Inner Core - The inner core is the most solid layer on the Earth and also it is the hottest layer.
It is solid because of all the pressure from the other layers around it.
Our group - Buster, Me/ Tristan and Cameron
First we created a 3D image of the earth using clay.
We then cut the shape in half to show the different layers.
After waiting for it to dry, we identified each layer by painting them in different colours

Below are some pictures of our work.
