My progress 2017

Here is my progress I have made this year in maths, basic facts, reading, writing and spelling. I think I have made good progress in spelling because I have spelt a lot of words correct and keeping letters on the line most of the time.

Here is my handwriting sample from Term 3.
I am good at sitting the letters on the line.
I need to work on making the letters more even.

Garden to table

This is Garden to table we were pulling out the weeds to make way for the plants. This picture is me in the garden.

The next photo down below is me cutting with Charlie, Fin and Kane. We cut capsicums, cucumber and carrots.

Hot air balloon

For art we created a hot air balloon. We used pastel for our background. We used dye and black PVA glue for the balloon. We weaved the basket. My favourite part was colouring in with the dye.

Maths Strategy

For maths we have been working on different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems. I have created a screencastify to show how to find a missing number for addition. I use rounding to a tidy number to help me.

skittles writing

This is my skittles writing.  We were learning to use a range of words to add detail.  This is to help create a picture in the readers head. I am good at using punctuation.and  i am not good at making sense a lot i think,.

Collaborative bird

We made a collaborative bird. We each made bird feathers and then we stuck them together. We painted over the feathers with dye. This is an example.

This is my kite poem I wrote about a kite. I made a kite with my buddy Frank.

Science Fair

We have been learning to complete science investigations. We learnt about the scientific method.  We will share our learning at our school science fair.

Handwriting term 2

Here is my handwriting from term two. I did well done on the alphabet but not forming my letters and making them the same size.

Fractions

We have been learning about fractions. Fractions are a part of a shape or a number. All of the parts must be equal. A fraction can be a half.

Paper spinner

We made paper spinners for maths. We had to use our fraction and shape knowledge to help us fold our spinners. We decorated our spinner with patterns and colours. We battled our spinners with a friend. My spinner got ripped up.

We have been using shapes to help us with rotate, slide and reflect.

 Here is my animal report picture. I learnt about the white tail spider.  

Leaf poem

We went for a walk and found leaves then we wrote a poem.

My god mask

We used pencil to draw what it looks .like then we sharpied over the drawing and then we cut it out.

Silly Sentences

We have been learning how to write correct sentences. A sentence makes sense on it's own and usually has one simple idea or piece of information. A simple sentence needs a subject and a verb. It needs a capital letter and full stop. We write silly sentences and chose our favourite to illustrate.

Holiday recount

Going to the beach

Splash! The waves hit the rocks when we just arrived. I jumped onto my surfboard and then I flew inside the huge huge wave. We went on a boat fishing out at sea. After that I went climbing the bumpy rocks under a huge coconut palm tree. What I did after that was building sand castles. After all of that I went swimming in the freezing deep scary water.

Easter bunny art

We used marbling to create our background. For our bunny we used sharpie patterns for it. We cut out some glasses to glue onto our bunny. After that we added whiskers. Here is my Easter Bunny.

Triathlon

School triathlon

Yes!! It’s the triathlon. l was excited for it to happen. I was thinking about it as the line got shorter and shorter. Finally the line got to the five of us and we zoomed to the pool and dived into the deep frozen water. We went to the end and back again. Then we hopped out and ran to the bikes. I pushed my bike to the gate and hopped on it and zoomed in circles. We went zooming around the field. I hopped off the bike and ran around the back and went back down to the front. I ran to the finish line and I came first. After that we sprinted to get some delicious hamburgers, cakes and cupcakes.  Then there was more of it. I was tired after all of that hard work. My favourite part was the bikes.
